Mike Needs A Job

So far most of my work in the fields of web development and graphic design has been either for personal use, or was done pro bono. The Portfolio section has examples of my current and previous projects, or you can click on the Work History link above to see a copy of my formal resumé.

Internship

I have been interning with A New Mode, a fashion and style blog, since April 2009 as a header-image designer.

To keep up with increasing demand and quickly rising site traffic, A New Mode's creative director can turn to me when workload is high. It is then my responsibility to create cohesive and creative article headers using provided images. Each design is required to fit within a certain style, theme, or concept depending on the associated article.

Volunteering

Ignite Boulder
I have been a part of the volunteer and planning group for Ignite Boulder since May of 2009, starting with Ignite 5. My first task was to update their Wordpress-based website to incorporate pagination, permalinks for each post, and to allow commenting.

Blue River Century
I volunteered at the Blue River Century, a bike ride event benefitting the Lance Armstrong Foundation, on June 20, 2009, helping direct riders along the route.

HospiceCare
I volunteered over the summer and fall of 2008 as a donation coordinator for one of Boulder County's largest non-profit charity events, HospiceCare's Pizzaz. It was my responsibility to contact local companies in search of product donations, and help arrange silent-auction booths on the day of the event.
